CUSTOMER STORY

Peaceful stables – and stomachs

The Reco Equestrian stable in the Åland Islands has 25 stalls and offers high-quality facilities and services for horses and people alike. Built in 2017, the stable is designed for the demanding needs of racehorses and constructed to be both practical and aesthetically pleasing. The stable owner, entrepreneur and show rider Rebecka Eriksson wanted to install hay feeders for the modern stable to improve the horses’ well-being and to facilitate the stable staff’s work.

Finnish quality work and an excellent service approach

”We wanted to fit the horses’ stalls with hay feeders that could be filled from the corridor. We got reluctant answers from Sweden, and they weren’t ready to implement the special solutions we needed. We had almost given up hope when we contacted Katja and Jarkko from Heinätin. The reception was completely different: they were ready to solve all our problems and deliver just the hay cabinets we wanted”, Rebecka says.

In addition to the excellent service approach, Rebecka was delighted with the fact that the Heinätin hay feeders are high-quality products made in Finland.

Heinätin saves 1.5 to 2 working hours every day of the year

The residents at the Reco Equestrian stable are mostly show jumping horses competing from club level up to 130cm. The four dressage horses at the stable compete from elementary to Prix St Georges levels. There are also four young horses in training.

At first, the stable staff was dubious about whether the automatic feeders would operate smoothly, but all prejudices disappeared as soon as they started to use the feeders. The expectations for working time savings were high.

“The product redeemed its promises. Previously, the working time at the stable was from 7 am to 9.30 pm. Now we can distribute the hours between 8 am and 8 pm. The horses are also delightfully peaceful as they all get their food at the same time”, Rebecka says.

Straw fodder five times a day

Thanks to shorter feeding intervals, the horses at Reco Equestrian receive straw fodder five times a day. The more frequent feeding intervals are hoped to improve the horses’ health and prevent bloating.

The Reco Equestrian team especially applauds the Heinätin feeders’ excellent design and the way every screw and bolt has been placed keeping safety in mind for both horses and people. The staff’s work is made easier because the feeders can be filled quickly and effortlessly from the corridor.
